Dan grew up in North Bay, Ontario, Canada.  Becky grew up in Columbia, SC.  We met in 1985 while both serving with TEEN Missions, Intl on separate teams to Europe.  Becky wanted to be a missionary since she was 2 years old;  Dan was called to serve the Lord full-time at the age of 21 when on a summer missions trip to Portugal.

After getting married in May 1987,  Dan attended Columbia International University, and we sought the Lord for where he would have us serve Him.  It was our future colleagues and friends, David & Rachel Tucker, who first spoke with us about the possibilities and needs in Italy.  After much prayer we felt the Lord calling us to this very spiritually-needy but beautiful country.

Josh (born Sept 17, 1991) and Karis (born May 10, 1993)  joined in our preparations to serve in Italy, and continue to be an integral part of all that we do.

We first came to Italy in February 1998.  We were sent and commissioned by St. Andrews Evangelical Church in Columbia, SC.  We receive both prayer and financial support from several other churches and many individuals.

wHY iTALY?

Italy first heard the Gospel from the likes of the Apostle Paul and others.  So why do we feel called to serve in Italy?  Unfortunately most Italians have forgotten what some of their ancestors learned from those first teachers and have turned their backs on the truth of the Gospel.  Only about 0.4% of the Italian population are Evangelical Christians.  There is a tremendous need to make the Gospel known to the Italian people.

It is our hope that as you see the images contained in these pages that you would pray for the hearts of Italians to be opened to the Gospel, and that we could communicate clearly with them!

We first arrived in Italy in February 1998.  In August, 2005 we moved to Trieste, a beautiful port city in the northeast corner of Italy.  It is literally only a few minutes from Slovenia.  Trieste is a city of about 220,000 people.  We, along with our co-workers, the Tuckers, Kaisers and Dorigos, are working with a small group of Italian believers.  While this cosmopolitan city has a history of being open to many religions and there are monuments to many of the world's religions, most people have become immune to the impact of these religions.  Please pray for open doors to share Christ and see His church built up among the Triestini.
